Donor Spotlight: Merry Go Sweets

“Merry Go Sweets has been a proud partner of the Teen-in-a-Box program. I am so glad that we can give back to the community and support the social-emotional needs of youth experiencing homelessness through birthday celebrations,” says Natalie.

Natalie, owner of Merry Go Sweets, started her bakery in Walpole, Mass. when her children were young. As a graphic designer and self-taught baker, she found quick success in creating customized cookies through her retail and online store. Natalie felt very fortunate in having such a supportive customer base, and she started to look for ways she could help make a difference in her community.

Today, Natalie donates about 1,200 cookies annually to Birthday Wishes. The delicious treats are included in our Teen Birthday-in-a-Box program - a program started in response to feedback provided by the 200 shelters we work with across seven states. The program serves youth aged 14-17 years old so they can have a different experience than children served through our Birthday-in-a-Box program. Cookies are delivered with a gift card from retailers like Target, Walmart, and Amazon, giving the birthday child the power to choose their own birthday gift as well as teaching them financial responsibility.

Birthday Wishes is extremely grateful to Natalie and her team. If you are visiting Walpole, Massachusetts, please stop by her retail store and try a homemade cookie yourself. You can also make online orders.
