Ways YOU Can Help Bring Awareness for Birthday Wishes
Thank you for supporting our mission to ensure every child is celebrated on their birthday, regardless of circumstance. There are many ways in which you can support Birthday Wishes and bring awareness.
Take and share our survey about homelessness
Help educate others by sharing our quiz about homelessness to your family members, friends, and colleagues. Click here to take and the share quiz.
Read books about homelessness and start conversations with youth
It can be challenging to understand the complexities of homelessness and poverty. We have put together a reading list for children in preschool to adult to start you and your family on your journey for better understanding and perspective. Click here to view reading list.
Organize a gift drive
Birthday Wishes celebrate children ages 1-17 years old experiencing homelessness. All children receive a “birthday box” that includes three wrapped gifts. Most of our gifts are donated; we give about 18,000 gifts per year. You can share our Amazon Wish Lists to friends and family to purchase items for our New England and New York shelters. You can also ask a business or school to host a drive by wrapping a large box, placing it at the partnership location, and inviting people to donate toys that are priced at $30 or less. Create a personal fundraising page to support Birthday Wishes
You can create a personal fundraising page any time to show your support of our mission and ask friends and family to support it. You can also ask your friends and family to donate to Birthday Wishes instead of receiving gifts on your birthday. Donations made on your behalf will directly benefit children experiencing homelessness across six states so they can celebrate their birthday. Birthday Wishes relies entirely on donor support to provide birthday celebrations to children experiencing homelessness. Thank you for your support in bringing awareness and believing every child deserves to be celebrated regardless of circumstance.
