Donor Spotlight - Rabbi Abraham Halbfinger and Charlesview Charitable Fund
In October, we were extremely excited to attend The Rabbi Abraham Halbfinger and Charlesview Charitable Fund’s award ceremony. We were granted $15,000, which will enable us to add an additional Massachusetts shelter to our shelter partner network so we can celebrate even more children experiencing homelessness.
The Fund aims to help the Allston-Brighton community’s efforts to give opportunities to its residents so all residents can reach their potential by providing resources to nonprofits helping low- and moderate-income individuals and families.
Birthday Wishes empowers and supports the social-emotional needs of families experiencing homelessness, by helping build a foundation for healthy self-confidence and self-esteem through birthday celebration. Since our founding in 2002, Birthday Wishes has celebrated over 110,000 birthdays. We work in partnership with a network of 200 shelters across six states.
This year, we aim to celebrate 6,000 birthday celebrations, nearly a 20% increase in celebrations over last year so we can aim to keep pace with the rising demand of our program as well as add shelters currently on our waitlist to our partner network.
Birthday Wishes relies solely on donor support. Thank you, Rabbi Abraham Halbfinger and Charlesview Charitable Fund. Thank you for allowing us to celebrate more birthdays in Allston/Brighton, Massachusetts and believing all children deserve to be celebrated, regardless of circumstance.
