A Night of Joy the Birthday Shuffle Raises Nearly $52,000

Last week, supporters gathered high above Boston for the 7th Annual Birthday Shuffle and what a celebration it was. With live music, casino games, and stunning views from the 32nd floor, the evening was filled with joy, laughter, and a shared commitment to children experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.

Thanks to our generous community, nearly $52,000 was raised to help ensure more than 5,000 children each year have the chance to celebrate their birthday.

Executive Director Denell Nuese reminded guests that Birthday Wishes is about more than a celebration and that it’s about empowering families and creating meaningful moments during uncertain times.

“It’s not just a box. It’s a moment of connection. A moment of pride. A moment where a parent gets to say, ‘I made this happen for my child.’ And that matters more than we can fully express.”

Board Chair Mike Albert echoed that impact, encouraging attendees to reflect on their own childhood birthdays and what those memories meant.

“A birthday shouldn't be a luxury. Feeling like you matter shouldn't be a privilege. It’s a fundamental need for a child.”

We are especially grateful to our presenting sponsor, Boston Volvo, part of Village Automotive Group, along with our sponsors, board members, volunteers, and everyone who joined us for this special night. Your support helps Birthday Wishes continue showing up for families, month after month, delivering joy when it’s needed most.

If you were inspired by the evening, there is still time to participate in our Fund-a-Need and help bring birthday celebrations to even more children:
