Celebrating Support: Thank You to ORIX USA Group

We’re honored to share that ORIX USA Group has included Birthday Wishes among the nonprofit organizations supported through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.

We’re proud to be one of the many nonprofit organizations supported by ORIX USA as part of their incredible $1.8 million in charitable giving this past year. Through their CSR program—and with the support of their subsidiaries Boston Financial, Lument, and NXT Capital—ORIX USA is making a meaningful impact on causes that matter, including empowering communities, addressing homelessness, and supporting families in need.

Their generous support helps sustains our Birthday-in-a-Box program, which brings the joy of a birthday celebration to children experiencing homelessness. At Birthday Wishes, we partner with over 200 homeless, domestic violence, and transitional shelters across the Northeast to nurture the social-emotional well-being of the families they serve.

By providing caregivers with the tools to host meaningful celebrations—including party supplies, personalized gifts, and developmentally appropriate toys and books—we offer more than a party. We create opportunities for joy, stability, and connection at a time when families need it most. These birthday celebrations complement the vital mental health, case management, and stabilization services our shelter partners offer—providing moments of normalcy that help children feel safe, seen, and celebrated.

“At Birthday Wishes, we believe that every child—regardless of their living situation—deserves the joy and recognition of a birthday celebration,” said Denell Nuese, Executive Director of Birthday Wishes. “This generous gift from ORIX USA supports our mission to empower families in shelter settings and ensures that no child’s birthday goes unnoticed. Their commitment to uplifting communities directly translates into joy, dignity, and emotional healing for children navigating homelessness.”

Thank you, ORIX USA, for helping us deliver hope and celebration—one birthday at a time.
